𝐓𝐰𝐨-𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐏 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭 On 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 13–14, 2025, Peace Advocates Zamboanga (PAZ), in partnership with the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 and with the support of 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐬 , convened a two-day orientation workshop at 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 on the integration of Indigenous Peoples (IP) Education and Peace Education in the Subanen context. The activity gathered 27 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 from seven pilot schools, Subanen traditional and community leaders, with the 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 serving as lead facilitators. 𝐃𝐚𝐲 1 commenced with a brief project orientation and continued with sessions on peace education concepts, a workshop on Subanen Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices (IKSPs) on peace, and an exercise connecting these IKSPs with the 𝘚𝘪𝘹 𝘗𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 framework by Toh Swee Hin, facilitated by the core members of the Peace Education Council. 𝐃𝐚𝐲 2 centered on the review of available materials—including rubrics, thematic areas, and draft modules—and on action planning for the development of the Subanen Peace Education Resource Book, facilitated by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐮𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐀. 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐳, President of PAZ and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐏. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐢𝐨, PSDS Labuan District/Division Peace Education Focal.
