DOLE-Zabida: Capacitating Future Trainers for Livelihood Sustainability

On July 22, 2022, the Department of Labor and Employment-IX (DOLE-IX), in partnership with Zamboanga-Basilan Integrated Development Alliance, Inc. (ZABIDA), successfully concluded their Capacity Building Training of DOLE Sustainable Livelihood Framework (SLF) Beneficiaries S, a 4-day Training for Trainers which started on July 19 , 2022. The training aimed to capacitate, develop skills, and increase knowledge of DOLE-IX field offices’ DOLE-partnered livelihood associations on Value Chain Mapping, Productivity, Basic Safety and Health in the Workplace, Digital Marketing, and other related topics.

The training enabled about 25 beneficiaries from Zamboanga City, Isabela City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay provinces to get extensive information on how to manage, gain experience, and participate in value chain mapping and analysis to identify gaps, benefits, and disadvantages in the business. Accompanying the delegates were DOLE representatives from their respective Field Offices in the region. During the 4-day Trainers’ training, the participants were able to visit production sites related to their livelihood and skills, study the market and marketing strategies at a local mall, and had sessions in Commodity Value Chain Mapping.  This training is to be followed by a Training rollout by the participants to be implemented in their respective provinces.
