DTI PPG: a Livelihood and Entrepreneurship Program #PartnershipForHumanSecurity

On July 08, 2022, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) together with Zamboanga Basilan Integrated Development Alliance, Inc. (ZABIDA)  led by its ZABIDA Enterprise Mentor Ms Raquel Olivo, conducted an orientation on the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa: Livelihood and Entrepreneurship Program of DTI to prospect beneficiaries.

ZABIDA gathered members of the Fisherfolk sector from Convenio 2 partner barangay Limpapa which are identified by ZABIDA to be beneficiaries of the PPG Program of DTI-IX. This is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program for microenterprises, with priority in areas affected by fire incidents and other calamities, and with the recent situation, to help COVID-19 affected businesses. This effort is in response to the application of ZABIDA to offer extension service through partnership with DTI established in July earlier this year, this entails providing opportunities, seminars, product development, among others.

The opportunity offered by the PPG Program will serve as an Alternative Livelihood to the fisherfolk sector especially when their livelihood is being limited by disasters occurring in their area. The orientation and profiling done in this activity will be followed by the bidding and grant of the beneficiaries in this program.

ZABIDA has been in partnership with the different sectors in Zamboanga City since the conception of the Convenio Project, as a way of sustaining the livelihood development and partnership building, the organization continues to be a bridge in providing services from the line agencies to the various community sectors.
