DA site evaluation at ATI Campo Vida #PartnershipForHumanSecurity

On July 4, 2022, the Department of Agriculture (DA) through the Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center – IX (ATI-RTC IX), headed by DIR. Alicia Rose D. Nebreja and Mr. Gerry Pagarigan along with the ATI staff evaluators conducted a site visit evaluation at Campo Vida located at Barangay Malagutay, Zamboanga City.

This is in response to the application of Zamboanga-Basilan Integrated Development Alliance Inc., (ZABIDA) to make Campo Vida as an accredited Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) and School for Practical Agriculture (SPA) to offer extension services of the DA-ATI RTC IX.The Campo Vida Agricultural Learning Center is a facility that is run by the Zamboanga-Basilan Integrated Development Alliance, Inc. (ZABIDA) a community enterprise and agri- based located at Purok 4 Calle Sta. Veronica, Barangay Malagutay, Zamboanga City, established in July 2021 and is continuously undergoing improvements to incorporate the elements of self-sustaining and truly integrated eco farm.

The farm, as proposed Learning Site, has the basic amenities and facilities of a training center, dormitory and demonstration site for Agricultural Crop Production and Livestock Management.

In line with this, Dr. Grace J. Rebollos, President of ZABIDA, witnessed by the ZABIDA staff and other present stakeholders, signed the acceptance as an initial declaration to establish Campo Vida as a Learning Site for Agriculture of the Department of Agriculture and Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center IX.

This application is supported and endorsed by partner line agencies namely: the City Agriculture Office, Department of Agriculture, and City Veterinarian Office.

The ATI-Campo Vida is operated with the support of AECID and Manos Unidas under the Convenio project.
