In line with the sustainable intervention of ZABIDA through Convenio 3 project for its newly formed East Coast Barangay Alliance, a 2 day Capacity building and Workshop on Project Proposal Writing was conducted for potential project implementation within the member-barangays as its Convenio 3 Logistical Support on June 6-7, 2022, at Centro de Paz y Desarollo, Suterville, Zamboanga City.

This was participated by the Alianza de Costa Este(ACE) member-Barangays namely Guisao, Manicahan, Lapakan, Lamisahan, Bunguiao, Bolong, Dulian Upper Bunguiao, Victoria and Sangali.

This was in collaboration with Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University through Dr. Marie Joy Alvarez and Ms Cellyn Aron-Verallo as Resource Speakers on Basic Project Proposal Writing.

Also present were representatives from DENR- Mines and Geoscience Bureau through Mr. Ollyn Rey Balignot as Resource Speaker on Understanding and Living with Geohazards, ZCDRRMO through Ms. Marlene Joy Perez on Basic DRRM Concept and workshop, and ZABIDA GAD Officer, Ms. Danalyn Echem  as Resource Speaker onn How to integrate GAD in DRRM.

The presence of the City Planning and Development Office, Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources and support of the Department of the Interior and Local Government were a great contribution to the success of the activity. This activity was implemented through the leadership of Ms. Chariza Gregorio under Disaster Risk Reduction Management Component and was achieved under the Convenio 3 Project through the support of Manos Unidas and AECID.

As part of a marathon series, this workshop will be followed by a Project Proposal Enhancement and Social marketing with line agencies for potential support in the near future.
